Brighter Future for Young Moros: LDS1 School Building Pre-Bid Conference
To produce more professionals and highly-educated Bangsamoro People who will be the next generation of leaders, more school buildings are set to be constructed in Lanao del Sur 1st District. The Ministry of Public Works (MPW), in coordination with the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), provided assistance in the conduct of the Pre-Bid Conference for the Construction of Various School Buildings under 2018 Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEFF) last Monday, October 14, 2019; 9a.m. in the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) Conference Hall, BARMM Compound, Cotabato City.
MBHTE-BARMM Minister Mohagher Iqbal emphasized the role of both public works and education in ensuring the access of Bangsamoro students towards quality education. He stressed the importance of making sure quality structures and facilities will be given much attention as the current government gear towards moral governance.
Participated by members of the Specials Bids and Awards Committee (SBAC) and Prospective Bidders, the Pre-Bid Conference aims to orient prospective bidders on the latest updates regarding the procurement process under the new Bangsamoro government. This include a presentation on the submission of Eligibility Documents using the envelope system, proper marking and sealing of bids and correct address to avoid premature disqualification.
To ensure the faster implementation of school buildings, SBAC Chairman MPW-BARMM Assistant Secretary Danilo Ong stated that the SBAC will clearly evaluate each prospective bidder and instantly disqualify those who have backlogs. He also reminded the the contractors to implement the infra project with due diligence and moral obligation.
In the Memorandum of Agreement between MBHTE and MPW, MPW-BARMM will only provide assistance on the procurement process of school buildings while the MBHTE-Project Management Office will be in-charge of the supervision during the project implementation.
