MPW-BARMM conducts Training on Civil Service Law and Rules and GAD Orientation for Job Order Personnel
With the additional knowledge on Civil Service Law and Rules, better performance is expected from the employees of the Ministry of Public Works-BARMM (MPW-BARMM) as they efficiently carry out their duties and responsibilities. In partnership with the Civil Service Commission – ARMM (CSC-ARMM), the MPW-BARMM continues to empower the ministry’s human resource by conducting a training on Civil Service Law and Rules and GAD Orientation for Job Order Personnel last August 7-8, 2019 at the Diamond Hall, Em Manor Hotel and Convention Center, Cotabato City.
Civil Service Law and Rules
Being a good public servant does not only rely on a person’s aptitude (intelligence) because it’s their attitude that matters the most. CSC-ARMM OIC-Assistant Regional Director Dominador Gonzales, Jr. emphasized the importance of following the eight Norms of Conduct: Commitment to Public Interest, Professionalism, Justness and Sincerity, Political Neutrality, Responsiveness to the Public, Nationalism and Patriotism, Commitment to Democracy and Simple living.
An employee is always accountable in all wrong action. To know the employee’s rights and to avoid accidentally violating the existing rules, Mudjahideen Lauban from the CSC-ARMM Legal Services Division presented the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees as well as Administrative Discipline Offenses that ranges from light to grave which may even cause the employee’s immediate termination.
Gender and Development (GAD) Orientation
Gender Stereotyping always cause multiple burden as women are always seen as less than the men. CSC-ARMM Human Resource Ian Philip Zurita, Jr. changed the perspective of the society today by making the employees understand that with gender sensitivity, the ministry can perform more due to the harmonious relationship on the office.
The two-day training is the first one with almost 200 participants who are all Job Order Personnel. They would earn appropriate training hours and more knowledge on existing Rules and Laws as well as the concept of the Gender and Development. This is just one of the several trainings that are lined up for the employees of MPW-BARMM.
