Road Boundaries: More Secured Highways in Basilan
Crossing the roads and public transport are now more secured in the province of Basilan with the repainting of road markers, guard rails and pedestrian lanes along the national highways as part of the maintenance activities being conducted by the Basilan District Engineering Office (DEO) headed by District Engineer Omar Patarasa Istrarul.
Part of the Maintenance Activities of Basilan DEO’s innovation through Maintenance Chief Rodjim S. Arai is the installation of road signage at the boundary in Lantawan and Lamitan borders which marks the first ever signage in the island provinces indicating entry to the BARMM Region.
Basilan also now have cleaner and safer roads free from obstruction due to the routine vegetation control and re-gravelling/reshaping of road shouldering of the national road portions of Lamitan, Lantawan, Maluso, and Tuburan along Basilan Circumferential Road. Steady peace and security are also guaranteed in the newly opened and constrructed Basilan Transcentral Road especially in Tumahubbong and Mahatallang Junction. Safety is also safeguarded for commuters and residdents alike with the various slope protection projects in landslide prone along the national highways of the province.
To have a comfortable and convenient education, school building repairs are being done to provide conducive classrooms. The pupils in the following schools of Lamitan – Buahan Elementary School, Burgos Elementary School and Cabobo Elementary School are some of those who are currently benefitting from the efforts being done by the Basilan DEO.
