In a significant milestone for peace and development, a new farm-to-market road has been completed in the once-isolated and conflict-prone Sitio Kiamco in Brgy. Maitumaig, Datu Unsay Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur. This road, stretching through challenging mountainous terrain, is not just a symbol of progress but also a testament to the transformative power of peacebuilding efforts in a region marked by years of conflict.
The newly constructed farm-to-market road, spanning approximately 3.2 kilometers, now provides a vital lifeline for Brgy. Maitumaig residents. This road will enable farmers to transport their produce to markets more easily, allowing them to earn a better income and improve their overall quality of life. Additionally, it will facilitate the delivery of essential goods and services to the community.
People of Maitumaig also expressed their gratitude to the BARMM for their actions in concreting the road they had been longing for, for many years.
Noraida Usop of Barangay Maitumaig said.
